Acts of the Apostles

The revelation that God has given to the apostles, the testimony of the Holy Spirit through Scripture itself, the testimony of the Holy Spirit in the heart of every follower of Christ, rational (sane) thought, scientific method, and any other measure other than the creative rationalizations (insane stories) of the skeptics, all confirm the historical, material, and spiritual accuracy of every part of Scripture from the very beginning of Genesis to the very end of Revelation.

A down-to-earth history of the early Church.

1. Jesus commands the disciples not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for the Holy Spirit--disciples question when the Kingdom will be restored and Jesus redirects them to the receiving of power from on High by the Holy Spirit--Jesus ascends into heaven--the disciples in unity in the upper room--Matthias indicated by the Holy Spirit to replace Judas Iscariot

3. Peter and John heal the lame man--Peter gives the glory to Christ

4. Peter and John arrested and threatened--Peter and John respond to their threats and are released--sharing among the Christ-followers

5. Ananias and Sapphira lie to the Holy Ghost--many miracles and healings--the Sadducees (liberal Jews) become Jealous and have the apostles thrown in Jail--an angel releases the apostles from prison--Gamaliel counsels the Jews that they may be fighting God Himself

6. seven deacons (to the apostles-not local deacons) are indicated and set--Stephen, one of the seven, does miracles and signs--Some men put Stephen on trial

7. Stephen gives his defense--Stephen is stoned to death

8. Saul persecutes the church--Philip (traveling deacon) in Samaria--Simon the sorcerer--Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch--Philip transported to Azotus by the Spirit

9. Saul is converted and becomes Paul--Paul's ministry begins--Peter travels, heals, and raises the dead

10. Cornelius (a gentile) has a vision--Peter has a vision--Peter goes to Cornelius in Caesarea--gentiles hear the good news and are filled with the Spirit and speak in tongues--gentiles are baptized in water

11. Peter goes to the other apostles and elders concerning the gentiles receiving the Holy Spirit--Peter explains his vision and what happened--Barnabas seeks Saul/Paul--prophets in the local assembly at Antioch

12. Peter arrested but released by and angel--Herod allows the crowd to worship him and is immediately eaten by worms and dies--Barnabas and Saul return

13. Barnabas and Saul selected by the Holy Spirit through prophecy and laying on of hands--Bar-Jesus opposes and is judged--ministry in the temple--some Jews oppose--Paul turns to the gentiles

14. healing and teaching--some accept and some oppose--Paul beaten and left for dead

15. some, in Jerusalem, start teaching doctrine contrary to the apostles' doctrine, that circumcision is needed--Peter tells the other apostles and elders about his vision and how the gentiles received the Holy Spirit--the apostles and elders discuss the matter--revelation and conclusion is given through the apostles--the new revelation is sent to all the churches by letter and by word of mouth--Paul and Silas travel together and Barnabas and Mark travel together spreading the good news

16. Paul's travels--the vision from Macedonia--Lydia from Thyatira--Paul casts a demon out of a girl who was being used to make money as a fortune-teller and Paul and Silas are thrown into prison--an angel opens all the locks and the jailer and his household comes to Christ

17. Paul and Silas go to Thessalonica, then Berea, then Athens--Paul's sermon on Mars Hill (the unknown God)

18. Paul and Silas go to Corinth and are rejected by the Jews--Paul goes to the gentiles--the Jews bring legal action against Paul, but Gallio won't hear the case so they beat Paul--Paul and Silas go to Ephesus, Caesarea, Antioch, Galatia, and Phrygia--Apollos with Priscilla and Aquilla

19. Paul at Ephesus teaching and working miracles--seven sons of Sceva--Paul continues to travel--Demetrius the silversmith opposes

20. Paul ministers in Macedonia and Greece--Eutychus falls 3 stories and Paul raises him--Troas to Miletus to Ephesus--local prophets warn Paul of coming afflictions, but Paul assures them that he knows

21. Paul leaves Miletus to Jerusalem--Paul arrested

22. Paul speaks to the Jews who had him arrested but they stopped listening when he told them that God had sent him to the gentiles
